Looking for a whimsical craft that’s perfect for your fairy-loving child? This DIY fairy crown is made from simple materials but delivers hours of imaginative play. Whether for dress-up, a birthday party, or just a rainy day project, this sweet little crown is always a hit.
Materials Needed to Make the Fairy Crown Craft:
- 1 paper towel tube
- Tissue paper (variety of colors)
- Scissors
- Glue stick or school glue
- Tape
- Craft decorations: sequins, feathers, stickers, foam shapes, glitter glue
How to Make a Fairy Crown
Prep the Tube: Start by covering the paper towel tube with small, torn or cut pieces of colorful tissue paper. There’s no right or wrong way—just glue and layer to your heart’s content!

Create the Crown Shape: Once dry, cut slits down the tube about every inch—but alternate sides. Cut almost to the opposite edge so the tube becomes flexible.

Shape and Tape: Gently stretch the tube into a circular crown shape. Use tape to secure the ends together.

Decorate: Now comes the fun part! Add sequins, feathers, foam stickers, glitter, or anything sparkly and magical you have on hand. Let your child take the lead—they’ll make it their own.

Dry and Wear: Allow all the glue and decorations to dry completely. Then place the crown on your child’s head and let the fairy magic begin!
Separate the sections and stretch it around into a circle. Attach the two ends together making it into a crown. I attached the ends with tape.
