Preschool Letter L Snack: L is for Lamb Popcorn Balls

Preschool Letter L Snack- L is for Lamb

Make some popcorn balls into little lambs for your letter L snack!  We loved making this one. My kids colored the lamb faces and helped form the popcorn balls, too! As always my snacks are healthy and not loaded with sugar. Most of the preschool themed snacks I find online are full of sugar and processed ingredients, so I am trying hard to bring you healthier options!

Honey Date Popcorn Balls

5-6 cups Popped Popcorn (1/3 c. kernels)

3/4 cup Dried Pitted Dates

1/2 cup Honey

3 Tbsp Coconut oil

Salt – just a pinch

Directions:

Pop the popcorn. We air pop ours in paper bags in the microwave by putting 2-3 Tablespoons into a bag and folding down the top a few times. Dump into a large bowl and remove any unpeopled kernels.

Chop the dates in a food processor. I process it up really small so it is more like a paste. Add dates, coconut oil and honey into a small pot and cook until melty.  It is a thicker paste.

Salt the bowl of popcorn lightly.

Drop the date mixture onto the popcorn by spoonfuls and mix into the popcorn. It will not set-up like normal popcorn balls, but has a gooey caramel-y taste.

Scoop into plastic balls and form into balls in the bags. Twist the bags closed and add a little lamb face to the bag. We taped ours on.  The lamb faces are in the letter L printable pack.

Preschool Letter L Craft: L is for Lightning

Preschool Letter L Craft- L is for Lightning

This is a simple craft for little ones to do!  It can be painted or colored depending on your messiness tolerance! 😉 We used markers. I’ll be honest, some days I am ok with mess, some days I am not.

Both the lightning and this Letter L template are in my printable pack. Color each one, cut out the lightning and glue it on top of the L and you are done!  My kids thought it looked like a super hero L!
