Earlier this month, I shared some Christmas Pattern Block Mats & they turned out to be a huge hit. Today I have some New year pattern block mats. These would be such a fun and simple New Year’s Eve activity for kids!
Do you have any pattern blocks at your home or school? You can find them made from plastic or wood. They are a great math tool for hands-on math activities for kids in preschool through early elementary. Pattern blocks teach patterning, shapes, colors and more! They have been a long-time favorite in our home and I love finding fun new pattern mats for my kids to use.
The shapes included in the typical pattern block sets are:
- Double Hexagon
- Small Rhombus
This New Year Pattern Block set includes the following 10 patterns:
- 3 styles of party hats
- 2 styles of new year countdown balls
- noise maker
- sparkling cider
I included them all in color, black and white and just as an outline. Each one gives varying degrees of difficulty for older or younger kids.

Stay tuned for more seasonal and holiday pattern block mats. I am planning to do some for Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Earth Day, Cinco de Mayo, Independence Day, Halloween, & Thanksgiving. The Christmas set is already completed. 🙂
