Do you like sour candy? Â I have always kinda loved sour candies and sour patch kids are no exception! Â Today I want to show you how to make Sour Patch Kids Edible Rainbow Slime! Â This stuff is so fun and so easy to make! (Did you know I have a bunch more edible slime recipes?! Â We love them!)
Plus, RAINBOW SLIME, it’s so pretty! Who doesn’t love it?!
How to Make Sour Patch Kid Edible Rainbow Slime
This edible rainbow slime is REEEEEAAALLLY Â easy to make. You will love it.
Start by tearing open that bag of Sour Patch Kids candy. I used a jumbo bag- it says 1.9 lbs. on it.
Divide the Sour Patch Kids candy into five bowls by color.
Get you kids in on the dividing action. They will love it. And will definitely love eating a few in the process.
Next you will microwave each bowl for one minute stirring at the half way point. Once it is finished microwaving, stir until the gummy candies are all the way dissolved.
Turn the balls of rainbow slime out onto a surface spread with some cooking oil to prevent sticking. I also like to spray my hands a little bit to keep them from getting too messy.
It gets VERY hot so use caution when removing from the bowls so you do not burn yourself. We spread ours out a bit to cool more quickly.
Make it rainbow, of course by lining up the colors in rainbow order!
Now it is play time! Start with clean hands so you don’t worry so much about kids tasting it.
Stretch it, blow it into bubbles, roll it, pull it. Taste! mmm!

My only question…how easy is it to clean the bowls? I am wondering if I would want to do this with disposable bowls.

It actually washes out easily with hot water!

Will the slime stay slimy ar does it harden up when it’s cool?
Karyn Tripp says
It hardens as it cools. But can be re-warmed.

How much sour patch slime would be good to use per grandchild? I have three–ages 2, 3, and 5. Not sure how much candy to buy. I don’t want to over do it, lol.
