We have been having so much fun this year with all of our edible slimes. Today I have another one for you. This Edible Witches Brew Slime may look disgusting, but it still tastes sweet and sugary. It is made from gummy candies! This slime was inspired by the book Room on the Broom and goes along with the Virtual Book Club post for the week. The theme is witches!  Just in time for Halloween.

How to Make the Edible Witches Brew Slime

Green & Yellow Gummy Bears (The quantity does not really matter)
Gummy Body Parts
Candy Eye Balls
And a great story about witches! 😉

Put the gummy bears in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir, then microwave one more time for 30 seconds. This could also be done in a double boiler on the stove if you do not use a microwave.

Once it is all melted, let it cool for about 5 minutes. Then stir in the extra ingredients.  Make sure you say Bubble, Bubble Toil and Trouble as you mix. This step is important! We used gummy organs and candy eyes for ours.  You could do any edible things. Candy corn might be fun in it, or edible skeleton candies, too!

Gummy bear slime is incredibly fun to play with,  however you will want to spray your hands and the surface where you are playing with cooking spray. It is super sticky, but this keeps it from sticking to everything.

Learn a Little Science Behind the Edible Witches Brew Slime

Gelatin is made from long strands of amino acids. At room temperature, the bonds between these chains stick together as a solid. When heated up, the bonds loosen turning it into a liquid and they slide away from each other. You will notice when this slime is just melted is is really runny, but it hardens more as it cools.
