Do your kids love JELL-O as much as mine do? We had a lot of fun this week making some awesome JELL-O Halloween Spider snacks called Creepy Crawly JIGGELRS. My kids thought these were THE COOLEST. I mean, they could barely keep their hands off as I was making them!
How to Make Jell-O Halloween Spider Snacks
Did you know you can make JELL-O look black by mixing green and purple?
It makes sense, but I never thought about it before. Cool, hu?
These spider JIGGLERS are made by mixing a whole pack of Grape JELL-O with half a pack of Lime JELL-O. You chill it in greased ice cube trays to form the bodies. Then you use a blackberry for the head (attached with a toothpick) and black licorice strings for the little legs (cut into 1 and a half inch strips). The eyes can be made with any little red candy. I had some red fish candies on hand and used those for our eyes. Want more detailed instructions? Check out the Creepy Crawly JIGGLERS on the JELL-O site.
My kids couldn’t wait very long for these fun little critters to be ready. Once they saw me make a few (& I got my pictures) they wanted to make them on their own and jumped in to help out. The legs are a little tricky to keep in, but other than that, kids can easily make this project with you!! This may become a new Halloween tradition for our family.
Just look at this happy face. He is ready to dive in!
Are you making any special treats this Halloween with your family?
