Have you seen those Foam Letter Stickers?  They have them at the dollar store here.  We love using them for all kinds of projects.  This week I made the kids a little foam letter word search with them.  It was such a fun activity for my kids!

How To Make Your Own Foam Letter Word Search

The foam letter for search activity is very simple to make!  You’ll just need some foam letter stickers, some paper, and a pencil or pen.

To make this fun spelling and reading activity, I started by spelling out a few smaller, easier words that I know my kids can read.  I stuck them onto a large sheet of paper.  Then I filled in the rest of the paper with other letters.  Try to keep them in straight rows!

The foam letter word search can be used for a few different learning concepts.  My kids started by circling the words they found.

Next, I made it even more educational and had them write the words they found on another sheet of paper, too.  They didn’t notice that as they did this they were also practicing reading, writing and spelling all at once.  It was too much fun to notice!

This activity could also be used just for teaching the alphabet. Fill up a page with alphabet stickers in random order and have kids hunt for the letters you call out.

I loved the way my son added in a letter to make one of his favorite words.
This could be done with any alphabet stickers, you don’t need to have the big foam ones! If you use smaller alphabet stickers, you can fill it in with even more words to make it a little more challenging and last longer.
