It’s the final day of my garden week here. I’ve had so much fun creating a wealth of new garden-themed ideas for your kids. Be sure to browse around some of the others. Today I have a Snake Alphabet game for you. It is perfect for little ones learning to recognize their letters and learn letter sounds.
Snakes may seem like a bit of a stretch to the gardening theme, but not for me! I promise the snake alphabet game fits with the gardening theme.
I have been lucky enough to see many snakes in my garden over the years. So this is my tribute to all of the little critters you may find while gardening. While you may not love being surprised by the snakes you see in your garden, they are great for eating other animals that may do harm to your garden plants.
Fun fact: We had a pet ball python in our family growing up. His name was Ike. 🙂 I don’t mind snakes so much.
How to Play the Snake Alphabet Game
This is a very simple game. The printable includes the game board and a page with a printable die in case you do not have one on hand. Print them out, assemble the die if needed. Gather some small objects to use as game pieces- buttons, coins, small toys, or whatever other object you’d like.
To play, you just roll the die and move the number of spaces you roll. When you land on a letter, say the name and sound. You could even add in saying something that begins with that letter.
Super simple! This could be played with a preschooler, a kindergartner, or even toddlers beginning to learn their letters.
